How to draw on your screen in a Loom video
Loom has its own drawing tool and click highlighting, but only on Business plans and above, in the desktop app. On other plans, record your full screen and use a screen annotation app like Overlaid to draw.
Loom is great for quick walkthroughs, and pointing at things is half of what a walkthrough is.
If your plan includes Loom's drawing tool, use it. If it doesn't, or you want more than a pen, a separate app fills the gap.
METHOD 01

- 1Record from the Loom desktop app.
- 2Open the drawing tool from Loom's recording controls and draw.
GOOD

// WORTH KNOWING
THREE TIPS.
Screen, not window
Loom records overlays when it's capturing your screen. A single-window recording leaves them out.
Keep it short
A 90-second Loom with one clear circle beats a five-minute one with twenty.
Use fading ink
Marks that clear themselves mean you never have to re-record because the screen got messy.
